portrait Kara Woods is President of “Stage to Move”, a professional Home Staging company. Kara is an Accredited Staging Professional (ASP) trained in both design and business management. The ASP designation is recognized by the National Association of Realtors as the leader in the Home Staging profession. It is also the only nationally recognized Staging Accreditation. She also belongs to the International Association of Home Staging Professionals (IASHP) and RESA (Real Estate Staging Professionals.)

Before starting her own business Kara worked in business consulting where she managed customer implementation projects for a financial and manufacturing based software company. Known for her expertise, communication skills, enthusiasm and personable nature, Kara excelled at consulting, honing invaluable skills in project management and client satisfaction.

In 2007 she launched a Home Staging business, focusing on residential properties in the Tri-State region.

She is especially happy in her current business endeavor because it allows her to employ her 3 favorite things.


Kara is blessed with an unusual mix of talents fed by an entrepreneurial drive to succeed. She has a discerning eye for quality interiors, excellent organizational skills, and a personal approach to working with people that opens them up to making critical changes to a stale environment.

Kara holds a bachelors degree in management from Purdue University and has further education from Northwestern University. She resides in Danbury Connecticut. She is an avid runner and her current goal is to run the New York City marathon before 2010.

Although I work in the design industry, I needed Stage to Move's expertise to transform my living space from ordinary to one that gets those "WOW" exclamations each time. Kara Woods was able to envision key changes to my furniture layout to highlight the traditional details in my historic brownstone home.

With a limited budget she added just a few items and moved furniture from other rooms to pull the living rooms together. She organized the rooms and eliminated the clutter.

Over the past 18 months I have referred her to colleagues in need of design assistance and to contractors who desperately need to stage speculatively built residential projects for that extra edge.
